Komoot has launched a ChatGPT integration that enables cyclists (and hikers, etc.) to discover routes through natural language queries. You can request specific routes by typing normal, conversational prompts and get curated recommendations from komoot’s database of over 7 million routes and 4 million community highlights.

The ChatGPT app supports detailed search parameters including distance, location, duration, and activity type, going beyond komoot’s standard filter categories. You can specify preferences for result format and quantity, then transfer selected routes directly to the main komoot platform using the “Open in komoot” function for offline navigation and route editing.

Basically, it streamlines route discovery by moving the search to your ChatGPT workflow first, then sending your chosen routes to the app for navigation.

To use it, connect to the Komoot App inside ChatGPT, then access it by typing “@komoot” in ChatGPT’s interface, providing immediate access to komoot’s route planning capabilities without switching between platforms.

Top 3 worst ideas in the industry. This is the complete opposite of what the app was intended to be when it was created. I’ve already deleted it from my phone.

Golly what a great idea. Rather than having to do the excruciating work and expend the enormous energy to find a route by typing in a search bar, looking at a map, or using some other such exhausting method for route finding, let’s have AI do it ‘cuz AI is knows everything, is good at everything, and is super energy efficient, right?

Our future seems like it’s gonna be a lot like Idiocracy, but a lot lazier and a lot more stupid.
