Leatt has just dropped their TWENTY21 men’s and women’s clothing line, with many updated features and materials throughout their sizeable selection of jackets, pants, shorts, jerseys and gloves. Most of the garments are updated versions of their previous ‘DBX’ models, and they still follow Leatt’s numerical naming scheme from 5.0 down to 1.0.
Overall, Leatt sought to improve their garments’ comfort, breathability and protection for 2021. In this article we’ve highlighted the new features on their jackets, a few new shorts and pants for men and women, and improvements to several models of their gloves.
Leatt TWENTY21: Jackets
For 2021, Leatt offers a similar jacket lineup to last year, but they’ve made some updates and dropped the ‘DBX’ from their names. The men’s range for next year includes the 5.0, 4.0 and 2.0 jackets. One feature added to all 2021 models is the new ClimbVent Connector, which allows you to climb with your jacket open. The connector is located at the chest, and keeps the jacket from blowing open and sliding off your shoulders so you can pedal with it fully unzipped for maximum ventilation.
The 5.0 jacket is the most waterproof option, featuring a three-layer HydraDri membrane. The 4.0 is a medium-duty softshell model, and still offers 10,000mm waterproofing. The 2.0 is the lightest, water-resistant and windproof jacket which features Leatt’s new X-Flow mesh lining.
All models also feature Leatt’s magnetic hood, which keeps itself held down when not in use and attaches to Leatt’s helmets for rainy rides. They also all use 4-way stretch fabric, but the 4.0 and 5.0 get a dirt/water/stain resistant coating, brush guards on the elbows and anti-slip shoulder patches.
Sizes for all models range from XS-XXXL. Pricing is as follows: 5.0 Jacket – $229.99/4.0 Jacket – $149.99/2.0 Jacket – $129.99. Most garments in this article offer several color options, so check out Leatt’s website to see them all.
Leatt just began offering women’s clothing as of last year, and for 2021 the Women’s 2.0 jacket carries on. The big update is the addition of the ClimbVent connector. Otherwise it’s similar to the Men’s 2.0 jacket described above, but cut with a women’s specific fit. Sizes range from XS-XL, and MSRP is $129.99.
4.0 Pants
Leatt has updated their 4.0 pants and added a women’s model for 2021. Suitable for DH, Enduro, Trail or BMX riding, the 4.0’s feature a new super-stretch material, fewer seams and a looser fit. The new shell material is more durable and breathable, and the updated pants get additional brush guards. The 4.0’s pre-curved knees leave enough room for pads underneath. Finally, the pants are treated with a dirt/water/stain resistant coating.
Storage-wise, the 4.0 pants now offer new hip pockets and a key holder loop, plus waist pockets. Men’s sizes range from XS-XXXL. Women’s sizes go from XS-XL. The 4.0 pants sell for $129.99.
Shorts
Much like the jackets Leatt has updated their lineup of shorts, and no longer refers to them as ‘DBX’. The 5.0/4.0/3.0/1.0 models all carry on for 2021, and there is a new men’s 2.0 short alongside the women’s model released last year. The shorts range from waterproof and heavy-duty to cool and lightweight as you move from the 5.0’s down to the 1.0’s.
The updated 5.0’s offer a new fit with less seams, new waterproof thigh pockets and key loops, and new soft-touch non-velcro waist adjusters. The 4.0’s also get a new cut with fewer seams, a more durable and breathable shell material, and a new goggle pocket. The 3.0 shorts get the new shell material, improved fit and new hip pockets for 2021.
The men’s 2.0 short is a completely new model for 2021, offering a lightweight option for trail or enduro riding. The 2.0’s feature 4-way stretch material with a dirt/water/stain resistant coating. Five pockets carry your cargo, laser-cut vents keep you cool, and reinforced stitching should keep them together for the long haul. Leatt’s lightest 1.0 trail short remains for next year, but brings an improved fit and new pockets to the table.
Pricing for the shorts is: 5.0 short – $139.99/4.0 short – $119.99/3.0 short – $99.99/2.0 short – $79.99/1.0 short – $59.99. Men’s sizes XS-XXXL are available. The women’s 2.0 short continues from 2020, retailing for $79.99. Women’s sizes range from XS-XXL.
Gloves
Leatt’s glove line has seen functional revisions for 2021, boasting new features like AirFlex Impact gel protection (on the 4.0 and 3.0 models) and FormFit finger stitching (all models) with tapered fingers for a snug, friction-free fit. The new gloves also get an improved upper mesh for better ventilation, and they’re all touchscreen compatible. The new 2.0 glove has been updated with Leatt’s Nanogrip palm material, and Leatt offers 2.0 Subzero and Windblock versions for chilly fall/winter rides. Men’s gloves come in S-XL sizes.
For women, the 1.0 Grip glove carries over from 2020, but receives the same improved upper mesh and FormFit finger stitching as the men’s models. Women’s gloves are available in XS-L sizes. Check out Leatt’s website for pricing and color options.
Jerseys
Lastly, Leatt has updated their jersey line with new designs and materials. The 2021 men’s line ranges from the long-sleeve, cold-weather appropriate 5.0 jersey down to the lightweight, racey 1.0 tee. Men’s sizes range from XS-XXXL.
Leatt offers the 4.0 Ultraweld and the 2.0 short or long-sleeved jersey for women. Ladies sizes go from XS-XL. Visit Leatt online for jersey pricing and colorways.
