The S-Works Tarmac SL8 already holds its place as one of the fastest race bikes on the planet. Though it’s up for debate whether that’s due to the bike itself or the athletes who ride it. One of those extra-special athletes is Demi Vollering, and Specialized just dedicated an S-Works Tarmac SL8 rocket ship just to her. The Demi Vollering Limited Edition SL8 is a tribute to the reigning queen of the peloton, wrapped in a paint scheme as vivid as her palmarès. Only 400 individually numbered framesets will ever exist, and each one is a rolling homage to Demi’s dream-fueled journey from flower fields to Grand Tour fame.

Demi Vollering: From Greenhouses to Grand Tours

Before she was lighting up climbs like Alpe d’Huez and the Tourmalet, Demi Vollering grew up among hydrangeas, helping in her family’s greenhouses in the Netherlands. That grounding in nature, beauty, and hard work lives on in this SL8’s floral-inspired colorway, a swirl of deep purples, reds, blues, and greens overlaid with blossom details that echo both her past and her present.

Her mantra, “It All Starts With Dreaming,” is etched into the frame, along with subtle reminders like “Just Breathe” to keep calm when the pressure’s on. The result is a one-of-a-kind design that reflects her dual identity: calm and composed off the bike, an unstoppable force on it.

A Career in Full Bloom

Vollering’s meteoric rise is nothing short of dominant. After going all-in on cycling in 2018 (she previously balanced racing with speed skating and floral design), she’s racked up wins that would make any legend tip their hat:

  • Tour de France Femmes champion (2023)
  • 3x Tour stage wins, including Alpe d’Huez and Tourmalet
  • 2x Liège–Bastogne–Liège (2021, 2023)
  • Strade Bianche winner (2023, 2025)
  • Ardennes Triple (2023)
  • La Vuelta Femenina overall (2024, 2025)

Let’s not forget her gutsy 2024 comeback, winning on Alpe d’Huez just days after crashing out of yellow, and finishing four seconds off the overall win, the closest margin in Tour de France Femmes history.

New Chapter, New Colors

Now riding for FDJ–Suez, Demi brings her talent and her platform to a new team and a renewed mission. Off the bike, she’s just as fierce, fighting for equality, visibility, and a better future for women’s racing. Specialized says this limited-run SL8 is more than a bike; it’s a call to dream big, push hard, and inspire the next wave of riders.
