Even if you’re not a serious bike nerd, it’s pretty interesting to get a glimpse at the inner workings of a major bicycle manufacturer. Commencal has put their focus on producing fun, capable bikes for everyday riders and selling them consumer-direct through the worldwide web, and it seems as though the brand is picking up a lot of steam with this approach. In this 25 minute video, Max presents his personal theory and inspiration behind Commencal Bikes and their 2016 line. While it’s easy to surmise that ‘they’re trying to make good bikes for fair prices’ you get a bit more depth and insight when you hear things directly from the horse’s mouth.
In addition to covering well-known models like the Supreme DH and Meta AM, this video also nods towards the development of the in-house Ride Alpha component line, plus some of Commencal’s less famous creations like their dirt jumper, the Chromoly Meta hardtail, and urban commuter bikes. And don’t worry, if you’re not into the artsy-fartsy or technical engineering stuff, there’s plenty of ripping riding action and a hard rock soundtrack to keep the pace up! Crack a cold one and get inside Commencal’s head…
