If you prefer not to look like you’re moon walking and sound like your tap dancing when walking in your road shoes, you’ve likely tried LOOK’s KEO Grip cleats. They’re the ones with the rubbery patches underneath that provide traction between your road cycling ice skates and the ground.

Now, they’ve been updated with a larger, more durable patch of grippy stuff on the bottom, plus a slicker backside to make clicking out smoother, too.

The new KEO Grip 3K cleats are a rolling change and have started shipping with pedals this month (December 2025). Aftermarket sales start in January, so if you’ve been putting off cleat replacement (and, let’s be honest, who hasn’t?), maybe wait another month. At that point you’ll be able to grab the new ones, or, likely, get the originals on sale and cheat death for another spring training season.

The KEO Grip 3K replace the original grip panels, which were admittedly a little too easily worn or torn off, with a tougher material using a new co-bonding process that should help them stick around longer.

The rear grip patch is also larger and a full centimeter wider for better stability. Yet they’re also 15% lighter overall, so there’s less rotational mass on your feet.

The back lip of the cleats are molded with a non-stick material infused into the composite, helping them click in and slide out when you twist your heel. This new material blend also keeps them quieter while riding, particularly for riders who tend to micro-twist their heels on every pedal stroke.

They remain available in three release angles – 0º, 4.5º and 9º – with different colors making it easy to know which is which.
