Wish your water bottle could do more than just… hold water? That’s what led the MODL Outdoors team to create the most capable hydration system yet. Simply called MODL, the design starts with a flexible silicon center section that can then be customized to fit your needs with a number of different accessory caps.

Since the Core is flexible, it can be packed down small when not in use.

The “Lifeloops” around the caps allow the bottle to be attached to a number of things – including your bike’s top tube to function as a hydration system with the accessory drinking tube. It can also be strapped to your bag, your boat, or even your belt to function as a hydration fanny pack.

Additional accessory caps allow it to function as a water purification system, or a rinse kit that can function as an impromptu 33oz shower system. Of course there’s also a standard water bottle cap so you can drink out of it normally. MODL is planning to continue to introduce new accessories as they and their fans think of them – like a small valuable’s storage pocket inside the bottle cap, or the ability to link two MODLs together.

Currently, the bottle is selling on Kickstarter with basic models selling for as little as $34 without MODs. The complete system with all four MODs starts at $99.

To Bike Rumor staff. You periodically publish information about Kickstarter projects that all sound wonderful in the concept – think about X Shifter. You might think about doing an analysis article about the projects you have mentioned on BR and how they have panned out. Did the project get completed on time? Are backers satisfied with the results of the project? Any lessons learned? I understand that Kickstarter is caveat emptor and that BR is not promoting a product. It just seems that if you are going to publicize projects, some follow up might benefit your readers. I think the X Shifter backers may have learned some hard lessons (I am not a backer but have followed the project out of curiosity).Cheers
