Muc-Off launch new Lab.94 technical equipment starting with military-inspired riding pack

For a brand that started out making bike soap, Muc-Off have come a long way with their range of products, from a complete range of bike-specific wash and maintenance fluids, to a complete tubeless set-up and repair kit. Hot on the heels of Muc-Off’s Bottled Air Magic is their all-new Lab.94 technical equipment brand. The first product out the laboratory door is a military-inspired modular pack, the Lab.94 Ride Pack, versatile enough to be a robust big mountain adventure pack or a hardier than average travel commuter pack.

Lab.94 Ride Pack

The 20L Lab.94 ride pack is composed of 1000 Dernier Teflon coated Cordura – a fairly heavy duty material but super tough and hard wearing, the pack weighs in at 1.5 kg empty. Capacity is expandable via the roll-top, and all YKK zippers are fully waterproof. This pack has all the features you’d expect from a quality riding pack; a back protector insert panel, a 3L-capacity insulated hydration compartment, adjustable chest and hip and shoulder straps, a helmet carry, and a waterproof & reflective rain cover. The hip straps are padded for added comfort and have small zipper-accessed pockets for quick access.

The Lab.94 Ride Pack also has features you weren’t expecting, but never knew you wanted; a microfibre-lined sunglass compartment, a specific location to store a pump, velcro reflective omnitape, a Hiplok FLX compartment, and a military-style ‘Molle’ attachment system. The pack is designed to be used both when you’re out shredding trails and when you’re on the daily commute; remove your hydration bladder, back protector and hip strap, add the protective 15″ laptop sleeve and boom, you’ve got a commuter pack.

Lab.94 Essentials Pack

Strapping onto the Lab.94 Ride Pack is the Essentials Pack, a neat compartmentalised case, with a still weatherproof construction and impact foam to protect your precious smartphone, GoPro, etc. Inside you’ll find the case has an EVA foam protection pad so you can store your phone in one side and your trailside repair items, CO2, levers, patches, etc., in the other. The Lab.94 Essential Pack is also made of tough 1000D Cordura, and attaches to the Ride Pack via the ‘Molle’ attachment system. It also includes a Cordura pouch to ensure you can keep your loose change contained. Off the bike the Essential Pack would serve you well on the commute as a place to store charging cables and the like. Empty, it weighs 260g with the dimensions 195 x 130 x 45 mm.

Dopp Kit Bag

Attach this to the Ride Pack when you’re away on your travels. The Dopp Kit Bag is essentially a wash bag, designed to hold grooming essentials for an overnight stay. It also has a detachable mirror inside so you can quickly check you’ve washed off every last speck of mud before heading out to dinner. It has a waterproof liner, elasticated accessory straps and multiple storage compartments.
