My Limar is making it easier to get that pro custom look with their new helmet customization program. You don’t need a professional team or even a gear sponsor to get that pro look these days. Limar lets you pick any standard base color from their entire Air Revolution lightweight & aero road bike helmet lineup, then customizes it with your team colors, team logos, and even individual rider names.
My Limar custom club & team aero road bike helmets
Getting that pro look is already easier these days thanks to digital printed decals and even customization kits specifically designed for certain helmets. But the My Limar program takes it a bit further, at least for clubs & small teams, customizing their entire helmet range with a reasonable minimum quantity. This isn’t geared towards individual riders, you need to buy ten of the same helmet to go custom; but they can be all different sizes and there is the ability for individual rider name customization too.
What Limar helmets & what customization is really possible?
Limar has been customizing helmets through their UK distributor for a little over a year, and now offer My Limar out to a broader international audience. They’ve officially said that new Air Revolution family, lightweight & aerodynamic road bike helmets are available for customization – the Air Pro, Air King, Air Speed, Air Master & Air Star, plus their older 007 Superlight aero TT helmet in limited remaining quantities. But they’ve also said that “all models included in the LIMAR 2020 catalogue” are also possible, adding their fast new Speed King time trial helmet, their half-shell Delta trail lid & 540g full-face Alpe enduro helmets too.
The degree of customization starts with any of the standard helmet colors & graphic layouts. Then, the My Limar design team will custom make transparent decals UV-resistant printed at high resolution with the Pantone-color matched graphics & logos of your team, including individual rider names printed on each helmet.
How much does custom cost & how long does it take?
The quick answer is unfortunately, it depends. My Limar works much like any custom team/club kit order; you provide design/Pantone colors & logos & the Limar team will mock it up and confirm before they move ahead. That also usually means that buying lower quantities costs more, but Limar says that there is “no design fee” for their work. And it seems that some custom helmets are being sold for the exact same retail price as their stock designs.
The timing is a little more clear. Once you agree on the final design, My Limar opens up a two-week window where your teammates can pick their size and pay, then delivery typically goes out 2-3 weeks later.
