This weekend, Saturday June 6th specifically, is the National Trail Day (NTD). Started by the American Hiking Society in 1993, the idea is to celebrate, support, and/or build trails for hiking, cycling, and other use. The IMBA, International Mountain Biking Association, regularly hosts weekend long trail building schools and will be in both Seattle, WA and Chicago, IL for NTD.  Check with your local mountain bike club to see if they’re having a trail work day.

For Greensboro, NC, our own Fat Tire Society is having a mega trail building day at the new Blue Heron Trail, with several other local groups helping out.  If you’re a mountain biker in the area, the trail starts off N. Church Street at Plainfield Road.  Meet us out there!
