Carrying a phone on the bike seems to be one of the most common problems that new products are trying to solve. While some riders want to go for a ride to leave it all behind, others are trying to make sure they are connected during the ride, whether it be for safety, being connected to the family, or making sure they can trade the right stock at the right time.
Two new products are at the far extremes of ways to carry a phone. BioLogic is introducing the new Bike Mount Plus for iPhone 6, a very solid case with waterproofing, full protection and full connection, while Indigo is Kickstarting a simple molded plastic peice that sticks on, adapting your phone to Garmin quarter-turn mounting systems.
Check out the details of these two new ideas after the break…

BioLogic’s Bike Mount Plus allows the touchscreen to continue to work through the case, and has features so that speakerphone, cameras, charge port, and headphones continue to work while in the case. There is even a channel in the liner called SoundPipe to redirect audio to the front of the case so speakerphone can be used while in the case and mounted.
The Bike Mount Plus is the deluxe waterproof, hard case mount for the iPhone 6. Waterproof to IPX4, the ABS plastic shell also protects the phone in the case of impact, as well protected from rain, sweat, mud, and dirt. The bracket is heavy-duty and can swivel 360 degrees to mount in portrait or landscape, and can mount to handlebars or stems with a diameter of 20 – 45 mm.
- Fits iPhone 6
- Hard-shell case protects against scratches and knocks, silicone liner protects from shock
- SoundPipe™ channels in liner redirect audio towards user
- Phone useable in case in speaker phone mode — removal not necessary
- Sealed ports for headphones and charge cable
- Screw-lock mounting bracket for extra security
- Touch-sensitive membrane allows full access to touchscreen
- Fits handlebars or stems with a diameter of 44 mm (1.78”) or less
The Bike Mount Plus for iPhone 6 sells for $39.99 from a link direct off their website.
Placed firmly in the “why didn’t I think of that?” category, Indigo has made a Uni Mount that is simply the male portion of the Garmin quarter-turn mount. It can be adhered to most anything, but is intended for a cell phone, and sticks on using 3M VHB (Very High Bond) tape. Now, you can run apps like Strava, Wahoo or Mapmyride and use your phone as a fully featured bike computer with GPS.
Indigo is the company that launched the Dual Mount, that features an out front Garmin quarter-turn mount with a GoPro mount on the bottom side, so run them together. We are not entirely sure what they actual name of the company is however, as they have listed it as both Indigo and Indiglo in various places.
They say it is not recommended for screens over 5 inches and doesn’t work with rubber, silicon, textured and porous surfaces. The Uni Mount is injection molded from UV grade acetal thermoplastic with 3M VHB tape for attachment. It is currently starting out for AUD $18 on Kickstarter.
