2006 Le Tour Ultime winner Jure Robic

The Le Tour Ultime covers the same roads as the Tour de France, but does it without stopping. The 2500 mile course must be completed in only 11 days unlike the Tour de France’s 21 days. Le Tour Ultime started in 2006 and was won by Jure Robic, a Slovenian who has won the Race Across America (RAAM) a record three times. Robic did not return in 2007 citing, “Ultime is too hard.”.

Attendance dwindled by half in 2007 to only three solo riders and a pair of two person teams. The 2008 and 2009 events were both canceled due to lack of racers.

There is no question of “Dumb or no Dumb .”

Here,is the question about payment of prizes and awards, poor road book, etc. .., etc.
I have a very negative information about the organization of LTUltime.

For some of us in Europe, RAAM is too far and too expensive.
I would be willing to race on LTU, but not in such a bad organization of the race.
