Digital Media Sales Representative, Bikerumor

Lola Digital Media seeks a Digital Media Sales Representative to support Bikerumor and its related channels. This is a full-time position with a Salary + Commission structure. We provide medical, dental, vision, 401k match, paid parental leave, and an unlimited vacation policy.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage client list (new and existing advertisers)
  • Pursue new leads & handle all inbound advertising inquiries
  • Prospect new clients & new verticals (i.e. near and non-endemic accounts)
  • Work with brands directly and with media buying agencies
  • Own and drive full cycle sales: initial outreach to closing the deal and passing off to Project Management
  • Sell traditional and custom digital advertising (display media, content, video, podcast, giveaways, sponsorships, social media, e-news, etc.)
  • Utilize consultative sales methods: Converse with clients via email and phone to determine upcoming campaigns or product launches, KPIs, timing, and budget
  • Build & propose integrated digital media campaigns on Bikerumor.com and across the AllGear Group (when applicable)
  • Possible role expansion to cover additional digital properties within our media group
  • Effectively organize, prioritize, and manage multiple advertising requests in a deadline-driven environment
  • Create (or aid in the creation of) any needed sales materials
  • Effectively prepare for, conceptualize and deliver online, phone, and in-person sales presentations
  • Travel to tradeshows, races, events, and more to network with key industry contacts
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key advertisers and media buying agencies
  • Provide prompt phone/email follow up to all inbound inquiries
  • Properly track all account activity in our CRM
  • Create efficiencies in the sales process
  • Provide excellent customer service and build strong account relationships
  • Forecast revenue from media campaigns
  • Report directly to Lola’s Director of Sales

Background/Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of related work experience, ideally in the digital media industry
  • Candidates for the position should have a solid understanding of digital advertising and marketing, especially publisher-direct advertising
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • A keen ability to see opportunities, understands needs, create solutions, set proper expectations, and close deals
  • Must possess strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to work across internal departments
  • Strong experience working with PowerPoint and Excel and is experienced using research and marketing to craft and deliver unique proposals/presentations
  • Self-starter that is ambitious in nature, with an entrepreneurial approach
  • Passion for the cycling / outdoors industry and an active lifestyle. We work hard and we play hard at the Lola Digital Media

I hope the recent increase in marketing-disguised-as-article isn’t a sign if things to come. I’ve been frequenting bikerumor more often as a result of Outsides purchase of pinkbike has done the same
