Following the launch of their 2021 range of children’s mountain bikes, Nukeproof are offering the Urchin componentry as standalone products. The Nukeproof Urchin range comprises kid’s MTB pedals, grips, bar and saddle to better suit your mini shredder’s feet, paws and backside. While it has been scaled down in size, it looks to be of the same quality as the adult Horizon counterparts. Kit out your child’s mountain bike with the whole lot for £120.
Nukeproof Urchin Kid’s MTB Pedal
Heading the Nukeproof Urchin range is the pedal. With a 94mm x 76.5mm x 17mm platform, the Urchin pedal is considerably smaller than the new Sam Hill Horizon pedal, and 77g lighter at a claimed 330g per pair. Ten replaceable pins thread into each side.
The Urchin pedal sits on a 9/16″ Cr-Mo axle with the same the same proven dual sealed bearing internals as the adult pedals. A full rebuild kit and replacement axles are available. Get them in Blue, Red, Purple and Black for £60.
Urchin Kid’s MTB Grips
The Nukeproof Urchin children’s MTB grips are of a single lock-on design with a super soft A15 durometer rubber compound. An internal flange butts up against the inboard aluminium clamp area for comfort. They measure 115mm long with a narrow(ish) 30.8mm diameter.
Get them in blue, black, red or purple for £20.
