Oregon Manifest held a constructors design challenge last year with the goal being to build the ultimate transportation bike. The winner of that challenge was Pereria Cycles. Tony showed up this year in his trophy, a custom tailored suit from Rapha, along with version two of his winning city bicycle. The u-lock has been extended, the hydraulic brake cable and wiring are routed through the frame, and he even added a custom machined tail light.
Jump past the break to see more of this bike, and the Sprout ‘cross bike.
The built in u-lock has been extended so that it works in more situations. Â It not only locks up your bike, it also locks the steering. Â The lock has its own pocket in the bag on the front rack.
Tony told us that his attempts to run the wire for the tail light through the headset failed due to the anodized coating.
Tony Pereira machined a custom housing for this tail light.
Edwin Brown, owner and operator of Sprout Cycles, put together this steel and carbon ‘cross bike for last years constructors design challenge. He has since been racing on it.
The carbon seat tube was custom made for Sprout by Envy Composites. Â Unfortunately, the fit was about 1mm off, so Edwin had to do a bit of sanding to get the fit just right.
