Shaped like a seat bag, the monstrous new Old Man Mountain 12L Atlas Rack Pack gives you more capacity with a more stable design…and still leaves room for a saddle bag above it.
Well, there’s room for one if you have a lot of seatpost extension, but it’s also shaped for room to drop your saddle if you’re using a dropper post, too. And if this is all you need, it keeps your center of gravity lower and your load more stable.

Top frame sheets keep its shape, including the front wedge to clear saddles. These also keep it from flopping side to side on rough terrain, and four straps secure it to your rack. Obviously they (and we) recommend using Old Man Mountain’s rock solid Divide Pannier Rack.
Video above is for the original 9L size ($95), but main features are the same, including:
- 100% waterproof TPU fabric w/ fully welded seams
- Rolltop closure
- Hypalon reinforcements for durability
- Criss-cross bungee cord on top

This larger version adds two new features add welcome functionality and additional storage.
First, there’s now an air purge valve toward the front, letting you stuff it full and roll it tight. Combined with the structured top panel, this helps you stuff compressible items in there further and tighter, maximizing storage.

Second, zippered stretch pockets are attached to the outsides for keeping small things organized and quickly accessible without needing to unroll and dig through the main compartment.

Compared to the smaller 9L version, this new 12L adds 1.8″ of length, 0.8″ of width, and 0.5″ of height, which doesn’t sound like much but adds up to 33% more interior space when fully rolled up. MSRP is $125, available now. Weight is 360g.
Old Man Mountain Cargo Straps

Also new are these OMM Cargo Straps, coming in a lime green to match the logos, buckle straps, and bungie cord on their current bags. Available in two lengths – 20″ (500mm, 35g) and 25″ (650mm, 40g) – so you can strap anything from Nalgene bottles to stuff sacks to your frame, rack, or fork.
Made of polypropylene, they’re waterproof and have a light stretch to help you get them extra tight. MSRP $18 for a pack of two, either length.
