OneUp Components has taken the accolade for longest travel dropper seat post on the market, releasing a 240mm travel dropper. That blows BikeYoke’s Revive 2.0 213mm travel dropper out of the metaphorical water. While the 240mm dropper caters to riders 6′ (183cm) and taller, the new OneUp 90mm travel dropper (shimmable down to 70mm) caters to riders at the opposite end of the spectrum. More derriere-to-saddle clearance for everyone. Hurrah!

This BC-based mountain bike componentry brand has taken the art of one-upmanship to the next level, introducing a new ultra long travel dropper seat post that tops its longest travel competitor by a whopping 27mm. The new OneUp 240mm dropper is now the World’s Longest travel option, offering the tallest riders more clearance than ever.

As with the other travel options of the OneUp V2 post, the 240mm iteration’s drop length is shimmable as short as 220mm in 10mm increments.

Perhaps more notable is the news of a 90mm option, shimmable to 70mm drop, likely to be suitable for riders of XS frames, kids bikes, gravel bikes and any bikes with short or interrupted seat tubes. It is now the shortest dropper seat post available, with the shortest total length, shortest insertion length and shortest stack height.

The OneUP V2 dropper post design already maximizes clearance for the rider, with a super short stack of just 33mm, measured from the top of the shaft to the central position of the rail clamp. At the opposite end, the cable-operated mechanism protrudes just 15mm into the seat tube. A OneUp 180mm post has a shorter total length than most 170mm- and even some 150mm-posts.

Pricing & Availability

The new releases mean the OneUp V2 Dropper Seat Post is now available in 90mm, 120mm, 150mm, 180mm, 210mm and 240mm lengths (all reduce-able in 10mm increments, remember). The 240mm dropper is available now direct from OneUp Components, retailing at $229.50 USD, while the $199.50 USD 90mm dropper wont arrive until summer. Neither come with a remote, which is sold separately at $59.50 USD.

I’ve been running a brandx 85mm dropper for nearly a year, so no, oneup don’t have the accolade of the shortest dropper on the market.

If you read the whole article, it states that the 90mm dropped can be further shimmed down to 70mm.

Shortest length not drop. That BrandX is 350mm long compared with 290mm for the OneUp 90mm.

This is the arguably (not really tho) more important dimension.
