Orange Bikes have released an all-singing all-dancing build of their mixed-wheel enduro race bike; the Orange Switch 6 Team. This is the bike the Orange Factory Race Team have been slaying EWS tracks on all season. The super tuneable high-end Italian suspension from Formula is the standout highlight of the build. Here’s team rider, Tom Wilson, putting the Switch 6 Team through its paces on some Tweed Valley gold.
Orange Switch 6 Team
The Orange Factory Race Team bike is now available to Joe Public. As ridden by Joe Connell and Tom Wilson, the Orange Switch 6 Team gets a custom tuned Formula MOD Coil Shock damping 145mm of rear wheel travel. It’s pretty special, tuned to introduce progression and support into a linear spring rate on a single-pivot frame. The shock can be further tuned by you, the rider, by swapping out the CTS (Compression Tuning System) valves to suit your riding style.
It’s a very simple procedure that doesn’t require use of special tools. You can effectively change the shim stack to tune the shock’s compression damping tune. For any other shock on the market, you’d be looking at spending several hundred dollars getting a custom tuning specialist to do this for you, plus a number of weeks off the bike.
The Orange Switch 6 Team also gets a Formula Selva S 29″ 160mm travel fork, also tuneable with two CTS valves to choose from, plus the NeoPos compressible volume spacers that give the fork a more linear curve.
Suspension is not the only Formula real estate on the bike; it also gets their 4-piston Cura 4 brakes with 203mm rotors front and rear.
The Orange Switch 6 Team gets a Burgtec finishing kit, with SDG Dropper post and saddle. The mullet wheelset is provided by E13, with a set of Michelin Wild Enduro tires.
