On the surface, the new Pirelli Cinturato Evo seems like just another endurance road bike tire. But Pirelli did a few interesting things to make this a more versatile all-road tire, from size-specific tread patterns, the biggest size range we know of from a road tire, and a construction adapted from gravel tires for all-surface durability. Plus, the made-in-Italy tire is more environmentally friendly than ever, produced from FSC-certified natural rubber and a combined 50+% of bio-based and recycled materials.
Pirelli Cinturato Evo TLR road, all-road & light gravel tire
Pirelli describes the new Cinturato Evo TLR as a “Road Enduro” tire. That mashup might sound quite strange to either road cyclists or mountain bikers. But to motorcyclists, it is completely logical. Based on a tread and large tire volumes heavily inspired by Pirelli’s popular Scorpion Trail III adventure road enduro touring motorcycle tires, the new Cinturato Evo TLR aims to give cyclists the same mixed-surface paved and dirt road capabilities.
Fast rolling slick centerline for smoothness and low rolling-resistance efficiency on tarmac. Soft rubber and increasingly deep & wide tread cutouts on the shoulders for predictable grip on wet, loose & uneven surfaces.

Plus, big tire widths range from 28-55mm for larger air volume and lower pressures for comfort & grip in any conditions. And a new TechWall+ Road casing that is inspired by Pirelli’s gravel tire construction for extra durability, with full bead-to-bead reinforcement, plus an extra puncture protection layer under the tread, too.

It’s ostensibly an endurance road riding tire, replacing the original Cinturato Velo. But Pirelli has created it with versatility in mind to be used for road endurance, all-road exploring, commuting, and even gravel riding.
Eco-Friendly Construction, too.

And let’s not forget the environmental gains here, too. The tire industry is gradually moving towards more sustainable manufacturing practices, and this is the most eco-friendly Pirelli tire to date. Made in their newest tire factory in Milan-Bollate, Italy, the new Cinturato Evo TLR is “the first tyre in the Pirelli range to use FSC-certified natural rubber while also featuring more than 50% bio-based and recycled materials”. It’s a clear sign of Pirelli shifting to more sustainable tire making, while not sacrificing performance.

The result is a new SmartEVO AS rubber compound that Pirelli describes as their “most advanced compound in terms of grip, vibration damping and durability. Specifically engineered for riders who seek control, comfort, and confident handling across all surfaces, this formula strikes the ideal balance of grip – ensured by the compound – even on wet roads and at low temperatures. It enhances vibration absorption and extends mileage, delivering a smooth ride even on rough terrain and in challenging weather conditions.” It’s an all-new, all-rounder rubber compound for “high levels of grip in all seasons and across a variety of surfaces, significantly enhancing comfort and handling thanks to its improved ability to adapt to uneven ground and dampen vibrations.“
