Pirellis’ all-arounder race tire, the P Zero Race 4S, is now tubeless-ready and ready to ship. For those unfamiliar, the tire is the middle ground between the full-on race P Zero TLR and the performance training-focused Cinturato Velo.
What is it — Pirelli P Zero Race 4S TLR
The Pirelli P Zero Race 4S TLR is an updated four-season tire from the Italian tire powerhouse. Previously only available in tube-type tires, the new Pirelli P Zero Race 4S TLR is tubeless and hookless rim compatible.
The four-season compound offers performance, reliability, and a lively road feel thanks to a 120 TPI nylon casing and nylon breaker to increase puncture protection.
The new P Zero Race 4S TLR is produced in Pirellis’ Milano-Bollate facility in Northern Italy, along with others in the Pirelli cycling line.

SmartNET Silica Compound
The tread of the Pirelli P Zero Race 4S TLR is made with the SmartNET Silica compound, the same used in the Cinturato Velo tire. The compound is a mix of materials and differs from traditional silica, best known for its grip and performance in wet and cold conditions.
Pirelli explains, “SmartNET Silica compound creates a product with outstanding qualities on wet and typical cold-weather surfaces…its natural chemical affinity for water, and more generally, with low temperatures.”
Speed Core Technology
The Pirelli P Zero Race 4S TLR is equipped internally with Speed Core Technology. The compound has low rolling resistance and offers increased protection against punctures. The compound was first employed in the Pirelli P Zero Race TLR and is a mainstay in Pirelli performance tires.
Sizing and Availability
The Pirelli P Zero Race 4S TLR is currently available in 28, 30, and 32mm widths with black side walls. We hope to have a review set arriving soon and will report back with a full review.
