We’ve all probably been there. You go to inflate your tires, and the tubeless valve starts to spin and starts leaking air and sealant. Some valves are definitely better than others, but Problem solvers thought there was a better way. Enter the Super P-Nut. Why no one has done this yet, we’re not quite sure…
Especially with single wall rims and valves with steel lock nuts, it can be hard to get a valve tight enough to properly seal. Often this results in the use of pliers to try and tighten the valve at the risk of over tightening or scratching the rim. Thanks to the Super P-Nut that may no longer be an issue. By replacing the steel lock nut with the large, knurled aluminum nut, you should be able to adequately tighten the valve without resorting to tools. Additionally, the bottom of the nut is concave which will guarantee there are plenty of threads to engage so it doesn’t bottom out. At this point it’s just the nut, but Problem Solvers says they are working on a complete valve as well. Pricing and availability is still TBD.
Products like the Problem Solvers MisMatch adapters don’t get much love, but when you’re trying to get that perfect set up to your bars they can be just what the mechanic ordered. The latest option will allow you to pair SRAM brakes to I-spec-II Shimano shifters.
Also under the guidance of Chris Duerkop, MSW continues to release a number of useful products. As tires continue to get bigger so must tire stands so MSW has a new rear wheel stand that is adjustable to fit 1-5″ tires. The velcro at the rear allows you to add just the right amount of tension to keep the tire in place while still being able to easily park or remove the bike. In stock now, the racks sell for $45.
MSW was also showing their new AirStream inflator. According to Duerkop, when they introduced the XLA-40 propane canisters last year a number of inflators didn’t fit. So they took care of the problem by designing their own inflator which works with both threaded co2 and XLA-40 cartridges. Better yet, at $19.99 for the inflator it’s reasonably priced and you can pick up the XLA-40 to fill up your fat tires for $12.99 each.
