One day after spotting the RAD Prototype inverted fork from Fox, Cane Creek is taking their turn for some prototype teasing. Propped up on the back table in their booth, a much larger inverted suspension fork was sitting next to its smaller gravel cousins.

Much like the Fox RAD fork situation, Cane Creek isn’t divulging any information on the prototype other than confirming that it exists. All they would say is that Cane Creek is very proud of the fact that all of their development is done in-house, and this is a good example of how they engineer and build the products that they actually want to ride.

Cane Creek did mention that they recently installed a giant new CNC machine, and their machinist has been loving the opportunity to mill the fork crown out of a solid block of aluminum. From the looks of things, the top of the fork has tooled adjustments but no obvious air valve.

The only obvious air valve is located at the bottom of the right fork leg, with an indexed adjustment knob on the left leg.

In front, there is what looks to be a floating moto-style axle that has four flat sides but rounded edges.

In addition to the stanchion guards on the outside of the legs, there was a third, smaller guard on the inside of the left leg that would sit between the brake rotor and the fork.

The only clear information listed on the fork is the e-bike ready symbol on the steerer tube. It makes sense that any brand working on a long-travel mountain bike fork would want it to be e-bike compatible at this point.

Based on the fact that Cane Creek already offers an inverted fork for gravel, it seems likely that we may see a production inverted MTB fork in the near future. The question is when we’ll see it and how it may compare to the Fox and any of the existing inverted forks out there from PUSH, Intend, etc.

That metal protector is simply the hose guide. Looks like the solution from intend.

There are doubtless many prototypes which will never make it into production. Until there’s some confirmation that will happen these are just decoration.
