Eurobike was a big show for Giant this year. First, there was the prototype XC bike, which looked like it could be a new Anthem. On the Liv side, there were amazing road bikes with adult-level tech but fit for young girls. In another area of the massive booth, Stages Cycling was back with new power meters for Shimano Di2 MTB groups.

If that wasn’t enough, Giant had two more prototypes on the other side of the booth, only these had motors. More interestingly, they also had a tire pressure monitoring system with Giant’s own tire valves with built-in sensors.

Giant wouldn’t divulge much in terms of detail on the two bikes, but we do know that they are based on the E+ system with SyncDrive motors. Both bikes had the sensor valves on the wheels, and if you cycled through the menu on the display screens, the bike would tell you the current tire pressure. It seems that riders will be able to set preferred pressures, and the bike will alert the rider when more air is needed. It will also alert riders if a slow leak is detected. It cannot inflate the tires on the fly or anything like that, but it seems like an interesting addition to integrated ebike tech.

With a Fox 38 on the front, this could be a new version of the Reign E+.

The trekking model looks a bit similar to the current Explore E+ 2, and features a stout-looking rack, fenders, and integrated lighting.
