This time of year is the best. Fall offers ideal riding temperatures, great trail conditions, colorful foliage, and of course, pumpkin spice everything, including… chain lube? Yes, you read that right. It seems that while it may have started as a bit of an inside joke, Bike Hardcore may be whipping up a special batch of autumnal lubricant.
According to the website, “Pumpkin Spice Butter was born out of levity but quickly became a real thing.” It’s entirely possible (and likely) that this is still part of the joke and Pumpkin Spice Chain Butter won’t ever materialize, but it does seem crazy enough to work. I mean, who wouldn’t want to slather their chain in a festive fall scent?
The supposed special edition offers all the benefits of standard Bike Butter chain lube and is “suited for most riding climates (dry-moist). Hardcore’s cutting edge lubrication technology is multi-viscosity, plates metal surfaces, shedding grit, and lowering surface friction. Chain Butter wont build-up that nasty, pasty, filthy, and greasy gunk like most lubes. When the time comes to clean your ride, Chain Butter rinses off and makes reapplication a cinch.”
Pumpkin Spice Chain Butter is currently not available, but supposedly coming soon with the site calling for a mid-October release. If it does become available, it will run $19.95 with free delivery.
