With a long aerodynamic history building triathlon bikes, Quintana Roo is sticking to the tarmac for a new range of aero road bikes led the new SRfive. Designed as a UCI-friendly bike for road racing and draft-legal triathlons, the SRfive doesn’t look so different from many other aero road bikes on the market, but packs in a few nice details and it comes in at a surprisingly affordable price for a carbon race bike…
Quintana Roo SRfive affordable carbon aero road race bike

A part of the greater American Bicycle Group, Quintana Roo has plenty of road-ready designers & engineers to pull from the titanium of Litespeed and off-road adventure of Ocoee for their first mass-start, draft-ready family of road racing bikes. But their background in triathlon aerodynamics certainly doesn’t hurt either. Bringing that all together, the resulting aero road SRfive sets itself apart with affordability, mega road tire clearance, and the integrated cockpit adjustability of the FSA ACR internal routing setup.
QR SRfive – Tech details
The new SRfive road bike was designed to be fast out on the road and claims wind tunnel drag reductions of 20-40W saved over a standard road bike. But ABG says they didn’t want to just make an aero bike, but one that solved problems they found on other aero bikes. So the SRfive gets bigger clearance than most aero bikes do – fitting up to 700c x32mm tires.
Light weight was also a key metric for the carbon frame with truncated aero tube shaping. And at a claimed 1175g for a medium with all its factory spec items (like derailleur hanger, cable routing inserts & even water bottle bolts, but not the rear axle), it probably lighter than most of the disc brake, aero road competition.
The new aero road bike features fully internal cable routing, and uses the modular FSA ACR headset, stem & bar system to allow full flexibility in cockpit type and fit positioning. It also works with both electronic & mechanical shifting, like the affordable drivetrain options available on the SRfive. QR says the bike is “fit capable”. And while the standard bike builds come with size-proportional stem, bar & crank sizing, a bike fitter will be able to fine tune setup to the individual rider.
