Rapha + Outdoor Voices blends casual style & performance in women’s kit collaboration

Rapha has teamed up with American technical activewear maker Outdoor Voices to create a new line of women’s cycling kit blending fun, inviting & colorful style with functional performance. Taking a fresh look at performance riding clothing for women, the Rapha+Outdoor Voices collection mixes details from each other’s experience to create colorful cycling essentials for those who know cycling doesn’t always have to be so serious…

More options for casual gravel & all-road riding gear have popped up in recent years, but much of that still relies on bland colors and muted styling, with still few creative looking choices for women cyclists. So after running into the women of Outdoor Voices on Mallorca a couple years ago, Rapha wanted to team up to see what they could come up with together. The result they say is a combination of “years of expertise in performance fabrics & fit”, blended with “a fresh, new perspective & added practical features”, think: extra pockets & pouches for riding essentials, a women-specific chamois pad, new patterning for a contoured fit, and don’t miss…  even a cycling cap that fits with ponytails!

Rapha’s Head of Design Maria Olssen said, “together with Outdoor Voices we set out to achieve a positive and inclusive experience for all women who love cycling, and also break down some of the barriers which can be a bit overwhelming. We wanted to bring everyone along on the journey through the graphics and colors of the range, without compromising on the technical aspects that we are known for.”

The Rapha + Outdoor Voices collection includes a jersey, wind jacket, high-waist cycling shorts, cargo bib shorts, a small handlebar bag, a light support bra, that cycling cap, socks, and a cropped T-shirt. In the crossover partnership, the whole line-up is available both through Rapha’s cycling-specific retail channels and Outdoor Voices who focuses on more general leisure & active sportswear.

Rapha + Outdoor Voices Jersey – £120 / $165 / 145€

All the hallmarks of our much-loved women’s jerseys are here: a streamlined silhouette, lightweight and breathable fabrics and internal taping for stability even when your pockets are fully loaded. With OV, we’ve added a subtle coin pouch to complement the three rear pockets and a zipped loop pocket that is perfect for storing the Wind Jacket. These two items are designed to combine – the jersey is available in a range of three colors chosen to complete the jacket’s terrazzo design.

Rapha + Outdoor Voices Wind Jacket – £130 / $180 / 155€

The centerpiece of the collection features a striking terrazzo print inspired by Mallorca and a host of practical features. The overlapped design of the back panel makes for excellent breathability and a sleek silhouette while a spacious dump pocket, snap pouch for coins and an elasticated loop for an extra layer allow you to carry all you need and more. There’s even a hidden drop tail with a reflective speckle pattern for added visibility.

Just like the jacket, the bib section uses an overlapped design to complete the layered terrazzo aesthetic while the chamois pad has been designed and shaped specifically for women, on their very first ride or their longest yet.

Rapha + Outdoor Voices High Waisted Padded Shorts – £80 / $110 / 95€

For those who prefer to ride without bib straps, our all-new shorts provide the same comfort and stability as a bib short with a double-layer waistband for a secure fit. The high cut waistline complements the collection’s Cropped T-Shirt while the shorter leg length ensures embarrassing tan lines just above the knee are avoided. The chamois pad is the same used in the collection’s bib short – designed and developed by women.

Rapha + Outdoor Voices Socks – £15 / $20 / 17.50€

These socks are based on our popular Pro Team pair and made with a lightweight and breathable with an open structure for excellent temperature regulation. The socks use a yarn created to feel very soft against the skin and which is also extremely high wicking, improving moisture management further. The footbed also has a soft finish for comfort, while handlocked seams and flatlock stitching throughout ensure the socks won’t chafe, no matter how hard or hot the ride. Available in White and Dark Green.
