Rapha today announces an all-new collaboration with Brain Dead, the LA-based international brand, creating a unique-looking limited edition MTB collection of on and off-bike apparel inspired by nature.

Rapha X Brain Dead Collection Hoodie

Rapha gets Brain Dead with alternative styling in Los Angeles for the limited edition technical and casual wear line-up. The collaboration takes many of its cues from the punk, underground art, and screenprint world, offering eye-catching designs that branch out even from the variety you’ll sometimes find in the the UK-based cycling clothing brand’s other capsule collections.

What inspired the collection? Why go Brain Dead in the first place?

Rapha says that both their team ad the crew at Brain Dead simply love to ride bikes and maintain an active lifestyle. So, the collaboration celebrates that kinship, stretching out beyond the bike too. The designs for the pieces are said to “reach deep into the idea of flow and how we pursue it”.

Rapha X Brain Dead: On-the-bike & Off-the-Bike Collections

The on-the-bike collection leans into mountain bike flow, featuring an updated version of Rapha’s popular Trail Lightweight Jacket with its light windproof fabric shell. Designed to be packable and easily strapped to a bike while you’re riding, combine that with a Rapha X Brain Dead Trail Windblock Jersey, and you’ll be protected from the cold, wind & even light rain. Don’t forget the Rapha X Brain Dead Trail Pant, with some of the most incredible graphics we’ve seen (seriously!)

The off-the-bike Rapha X Brain Dead pieces include everything you need to chill and kick it off the bike, like the mainstay Trail Logo Lock Hooded Sweatshirt from heavyweight cotton-brushed fleece fabric for casual comfort and durability, plus a two-panel drawcord hood to protect against the elements. The casual line also includes the Rapha Trail Maintenance Pants, a functional design with cinchable hems and four patch pockets to stash gear. To round out the off-bike range, the Rapha X Brain Dead collection includes basic Long and Short-Sleeve T-Shirts that combine “disruptive designs” with a ribbed collar and cuffs.

There’s also a collection of Rapha X Brain Dead Trail Accessories to top off the regular tiding kit. A Rapha X Brain Dead Trail Cap, with adjustable bungee closure. A 100% recyclable Trail Water Bottle with an easy-to-open, leak-proof cap. A pair of Italian-made Brain Dead Trail Socks to complete the look in merino/nylon blend for temperature regulation and comfort. And lastly, a Rapha X Brain Dead Trail Hip Pack with a breathable back panel, adjustable waist strap, and external pouches for extra storage and practicality on those big days out.

Post-Punk is definitely not the wording I would use. Probably look up post-punk before hasty classification.

Rapha Ltd Editions sell out pretty quickly, and often go for a high premium on Ebay. Every size in all designs is currently still in stock at rapha.cc. Just saying……..

so let me make sure I understand what’s happening here: sales figures on the stark, “epic road” designs are flat so they’re hucking this gross horseshit at the flat bar folks? I wouldn’t have expected such crass (no pun intended) consumerism from a company backed with WalMart money

Damn, Rapha really seems to have missed the mark here design-wise – so much hatin’ but not a single one about price, and we are discussing Rapha here!
