Revel Bikes has announced the release of its very first steel bicycle; the Tweedy Dirt Jump Bike, fabricated from a custom Reynolds 853 tubeset. Designed with the input of their supported rider, Brady Tweedy, Revel chose to name it after him, and will continue their support by giving him a portion of the proceeds of every frame sold. Available in one size only, this 26″ dirt jump bike is available as a frameset only, or as a complete bike.
Revel Tweedy Dirt Jump Bike
- Intention: Dirt Jumping
- Wheel Size: 26″
- Fork Travel: 100mm
- Frame Material: Reynolds 853 Steel
- Price: $969 USD
While Revel Bikes are based out of Colorado, the manufacturing of their carbon full suspension mountain bikes for which they are better known (the Rail, Rascal and Ranger) is carried out in Taiwan. The same is true for the all-new Tweedy, a steel Dirt Jump Bike fabricated from a custom-butted Reynolds 853 tubeset.
The Tweedy’s geometry was based on Brady’s preferences. Reach is 430mm with chainstay length at 382mm. The frame was designed around a 100mm travel fork with a 40mm offset, sat at a head angle of 68.7° (complete geometry chart below).
The frame is simple enough, with a threaded bottom bracket, integrated headset, bolt-on axle and integrated seat clamp. They chose a durable clear coat finish to show off the frame welds, and to allow that patina that will develop with age to be seen.
“This bike represents our passion of creating a product simply for the joy of making something excellent that we all wanted. The fact that it’s a pro model for Brady is even more special. He’s one of the kindest people I know, hilarious, and can ride a bike like no other. I’m honored to have him representing Revel”, Adam Miller Owner/Founder of Revel Bikes.
