Hot on the heels of the all-new Patron eRide eMTB, Scott have released a full suspension commuter running the very same integrated suspension design with a shock hidden inside the top tube. That delivers 140mm of rear wheel travel for “the perfect solution to all those looking for a single bike that can take the steep cobbled streets of European cities just as easily as a path through the forest”. This is a thoroughly modern fully featured commuter eBike retailing at £5,499.
Scott AXIS eRide EVO Tour FS
The Scott AXIS eRide EVO Tour FS (what a mouthful) gets a 750Wh downtube integrated battery powering the latest Bosch Performance CX BES3 motor. But this bike is far, far more than a simple pedal-assist commuter eBike. With 140mm front and rear suspension, and Schwalbe G-One All-Round Performance 2.25″ tires, this bike is capable of taking on a lot more than city cycle lanes.
Tucked away inside the top tube is a FOX Float eRide Shock, driven by the same four-bar linkage design seen on the Patron eRide eMTB. Thanks to Scott’s Twin-Loc system, the behaviour of the shock and fork can be tuned via a remote on the handlebar, switching between multiple trail settings at the flick of a switch.
The bike’s front suspension is delivered by the new FOX AWL eSUV fork, with mounts for what we think will be a ABS anti-lock braking system, like BluBrake, to prevent front wheel skids and loss of control. This is important given the inherent weight of eBikes and their capacity to carry large loads.
On the topic of carrying stuff, the Scott AXIS eRide EVO Tour FS gets a Racktime Carrier, able to support up to 15 kg of goods thanks to its stiff aluminium profile. The bike gets integrated lights and fenders to ensure you arrive at work safely and not covered in whatever crud you may have ridden through on the way.
