SDG is proud to show off their newest grip, the Thrice. And when they say new, they mean completely new as everything from the locking core to the three different grip patterns used have been meticulously developed by SDG to create the new grip.
The Thrice name comes from the three different patterns used on the grip for specific purposes. The half mushroom inner section are said to offer all day comfort, while the circular icon dampers are meant to reduce vibration and hand numbness for the area of the grip where many riders typically press hard into the bar with their outer palm. Then the ramped and undercut grabbers on the bottom are there to ensure your hands don’t blow off the bar in rough terrain.
The grips also have an ovalized profile with a flared outer end for an ergonomic fit and a dual density compound with a firmer inner compound to keep the grip stable while the plush TPE or thermoplastic elastomer outer is there for comfort.
SDG says that rather than using the same locking core that’s found on many grips, they developed their own with an integrated locking collar. Since that collar is the same polymer material as the tapered and slotted inner core, it’s lighter than an alloy collar which helps to reduce the grip’s overall weight.
Available in two thicknesses with 136mm lengths, a single 31mm diameter grip is said to weigh 38g while the 33mm grip weighs 48g. That includes the stainless steel locking bolt.
The grips feature a solid end with a raised and reinforced SDG logo to help protect the grip and your bars.
Available in seven colors to match current SDG saddles, the grips are priced at just $19.99 for the set.
