Italian helmet and sunglasses maker SH+ has just unveiled their latest road cycling helmet – the Shalimar Pro. At first glance we thought it was actually just a relaunch of last summer’s Shalimar, which has a very similar aesthetic and comes in at the same weight & price. The helmet is subtly new design though, said to improve overall aerodynamics, while also adding a bit better ventilation and a few other small features…

The completely made-in-Italy Shalimar Pro gets new larger front facing vents in its latest iteration. It uses the same soft one-piece, laser cut inner padding and Speed Turn V dial retention system as the regular Shalimar, but gets updated chin straps with improved ventilation.

The in-mold helmet comes in two sizes – XS/S (53-57cm) & M/L (58-62cm) – and a total of 7 matte color version over either a white or black base. It claims a weight of 250g for the XS/S & 270g for the M/L, and meets both EN & CPSC certification. The Shalimar Pro retails for 180€ and can be bought direct from SH+ in Italy or through distributor Gizmo Cycling in the US for about $250.
