We first came across Slicy Products while testing the Kona Remote 160 enduro e-MTB just outside of Madrid, in Spain. Kona had teamed up with french brand Slicy Products to create rad-looking custom mudguards, each personalised with our names on, and they exactly matched the frame colour. We thought they looked pretty sweet. Turns out Slicy Products customise a bunch of other things too, including headset caps and frame protection. These could be ideal Christmas stocking fillers for your MTB-crazed loved one. What, too early to mention the C word?
Slicy Custom Mudguards
A fully customised Slicy Fender will set you back somewhere in the region of €10.90 to €23.90, dependent on which style you go for. On our Spanish e-MTB adventure we were set up with the €20.90 Enduro/DH style fender, which is also available in a long version for extra coverage for €23.90. Also offered is a slimmer XC/AM mudguard, an MTB rear mudguard, and a road rear mudguard.
The Slicy Products website customisation tool allows you to add anything you want to a blank white canvas: change the background colour, the colour of the “My Slicy” logo, add text in 21 different font options, add a background stock image, add your nation’s flag or upload any image you like. It could be one hell of a time sink, I grant you that, but you can get seriously creative with these. Becky Cook, UK enduro racer who placed 7th in this year’s EWS, had a different custom Slicy mudguard made for every round of her 2019 season.
Slicy Sublimistick Custom Frame Protection
Slicy also offer full customisation of their very own frame protection material, Sublimistick. To be clear, Slicy don’t offer bespoke frame protection kits for every bike out there like Invisiframe do; for €39.90, they offer customisation of 2 patches for the downtube, 3 patches for the top tube, 4 patches for the seat stays, and 1 patch for the left base.
Slicy Custom Headset Caps
On top of your custom mudguard and custom frame protection, add a final, more discrete, unique touch to your ride with a custom headset cap. Slicy offer over 28 headset cap designs but you can also just create your own design from scratch using their online customisation tool. One of these will set you back €14.90. Probably worth it, headset caps are always a good talking point with randoms you meet out on the trail.
