Chums eyewear retainers keychain carabiner (3)

Going along with the Yakima SUP post for those readers who are outdoor people, not just bicyclists, Chums has a number of products that straddle many categories. Started by Mike Tagget and friends in 1983, the company was founded on a desire to keep their sunglasses from falling into the Colorado river where they were guides. Now based out of Hurricane, Utah, Chums has grown to include a number of different outdoor accessories from eyewear retainers to handy key chains and survival cords.

In addition to new colors and styles of retainers, check out the new Vortex Carabiners after the break…

Capitalizing on the current Paracord survival bracelet trend, Chums not only has Paracord eyewear retainers but will be offering new Paracord bracelets with the Kenai, Anasazi, and Wasatch made from  4.5, 8, and 13.5 feet of 350 lb Paracord respectively. Prices will range from $4.99-$9.99.

Aimed squarely at the number of us who use carabiners to keep track of our keys, Chums is getting into the technical key chain department with their new Vortex Carabiner line. Made from stainless steel, Vortexes use a gate clip that will connect to anything up to 3/4″ in diameter. There are 5 designs from the simple utility keychain to the Utility Wrench which has an integrated multi-wrench with 3, 5, 6.5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, and 16mm hex wrenches and a 1/4″ hex bit built in. Even though there is a specific Brew Claw version, each gate doubles as a bottle opener. Bonus.

The Utility Keychain Vortex sells for $5.99 while the rest retail for a reasonable $6.99. Available in black or silver.
