If you’ve been following the Orbea Factory Team on Instagram, you might have noticed a sleek white aero-style XC helmet on Belgian National champion Pierre de Froidmont. The Belgian Champ was spotted in a new Fizik XC lid while racing the Internacionales XCO Chelva, in Spain.

Fizik Mountain Bike Helmet?

What we can tell about the helmet from the photos is that it’s an all-arounder and doesn’t look like a prototype – it looks like a final production. Does this mean that Fizik is entering the off-road helmet world? Yes – I would put money on it. What I’m unsure about is if we should look for similar helmets floating around the peloton on the road.

Whats New?

Well… everything. This new cross-country helmet marks a first for Fizik, but it’s also curious. Because the Italian manufacturer sponsors many other teams both off and on the road. The roster boasts many world tour teams, including Team EF-Education, UAE Team Emirates, Movistar Team, and other continental teams.

Could it Also be a Road Helmet?

The helmet in question could be a road helmet as well. The design looks very similar to a POC or Giro helmet, with a pinch of Lazer on the top. From the size of the first photo, we can tell the design is MIPS equipped and boasts a fair amount of vents in the front with a unique channel near the forehead and no unique strapping or Highbar system.

Orbea Factory Team Rising

2025 looks to be a big year for the newly formed squad at Orbea Factory Racing. The XCO Team now consists of; Simon Andreassen, Jennifer Jackson, Rebecca Henderson, and Pierre de Froidmont. With a team like that, and a fairly tight sponsor setup, it would be a perfect opportunity to launch a new helmet line and maybe new XC shoes…

Check out the Orbea Factory Team for more helmet spottings and big racing.

thats disappointing coming from an innovative company like Fizik – would have been cool to see more inspired styling and a more game changing architecture – they should have teamed up with 7.20 protection
