Stoked on MS isn’t something you would typically hear from someone who’s fighting the neurological disease. But then again, Andy McKenna isn’t exactly typical. Just after leaving a job in the corporate world, Andy was diagnosed with MS just as he and his wife Aneela were about to start their MTB guiding company, Go Where Scotland. In spite of the daunting proposition of starting a new business while dealing with his new prognosis, Andy tackled it head on – which is the same attitude he brings to Stoked on MS.
Now, in order to raise funds for the Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis charity, Stoked on MS has partnered up with Santa Cruz Bicycles to offer a limited edition Bronson that will be given away as part of a raffle. The winner of the bike will be able to select a frame size of their choice. Tickets start at £5, and you can buy as many as you’d like. Andy has set a goal of raising £20,000 for OMS, and the raffle is currently 77% of the way there.
If you look closely at the frame, those orange squiggles are actually drawings from Ordinance Survey maps of the Torridon region in the Scottish Highlands.
In addition to the bike, Endura has kicked in a custom MT500 jersey with a matching design also of the winner’s choice in size.
The full prize pack includes the custom Bronson CC 27.5 with a Fox Racing Shox suspension package, Shimano XT drivetrain and brakes, WTB tires, grips, and saddle, and an EVOC backpack.
Head on over to JustGiving to enter and don’t forget to provide your name and email along with consent to be contacted which is required to win. Finally, if you have a bit of time you should make the time to watch Andy’s story in ‘This Way Up’ above. It’s an incredibly inspiring story that’s beautifully told, and not only brings the struggles of MS to light, but the triumphs as well.
