Thinking of themselves as the smallest premium shoe company, Swiss Suplest put some unique touches into their shoes that end up standing out from the bunch. The new Edge3 collection is built around the Ergo 360° last that it shares with their whole range, and will come in both road and mountain outsoles. The Edge3 gets Boa dials and stiff outsoles for power transfer, but a supple microfiber upper paired with extensive mesh to fit comfortably and breathe well.
Join us after the break for the low-down on the Pro, Performance, and Sport features…
Overall the Edge3 shoes aim to be more open and breathable with the lightweight seamless microfiber uppers, but Pro and Performance line uppers go one step further using a unique ultra-thin Japanese microfiber.
The shoes get two Boa closures across all levels to dial in fit across three points of the shoe, and include a thin carbon shield under the wires to evenly distribute pressure for better fit. They also include Suplest’s reflective finish detailing, a grid of upper perforations for ventilation, and replaceable heel blocks.
The Pro shoes get thin full-carbon outsoles, Performance shoes get a carbon composite sole, and Sport shoes get a reinforced nylon sole.
Pro and Performance shoes also get a patented Solestar insole used at the ProTour level by several pros including Suplest ambassador Stefan Küng of BMC. We spent last evening with one of Suplest’s sponsored mountain bike pros in the Austrian Alps, and she said tells us she expects to have the new shoes within a week or two, so we will be hopeful that availability should be following Eurobike in about a months time.
