Suplest has reworked and redefined a third new mountain bike shoe family with their upcoming Trail series. Filling in the gap between their revamped CrossCountry racing shoes and all-new OffRoad flat pedal series, these new Trail shoes split the difference, offering high-quality performance for riders looking for clipless control with extra grip & protection for technical enduro and all-mountain riding…

Based in between the Jura & Bernese Alps in the middle of Switzerland, Suplest has spent most of the last 10 years developing race-focused road & XC shoes. But they’ve since turned to more aggressive trail riding styles, first with the flat pedal OffRoad series. And now the Trail series adds a tech-focused option for aggressive mountain bikers still looking to be clipped into their pedals.

All-mountain & enduro clipless – Tech details

Just like the rest of their tech-heavy lineup, the new Suplest Trail shoes seem to dive into the technical details… From their form-fitting asymmetric Ergo 360° last, the Trail family is said to maintain longitudinal stiffness for pedaling efficiency, while flexing more laterally for comfort and grip in loose terrain when it’s time to put a foot down.

The top Trail Pro shoe features a knit cuff to keep mud & rocks out. Plus, it gets a dual tightening setup that starts with traditional laces to adjust initial fit, then a second protective laces cover with an extra Boa L6 dial to finetune fit in while you ride.

The top two models also get a new “NASA-tested SuperFabric” upper that promises to combine lightweight, breathability & extreme durability, and SoleStar insoles. On top of that, these two share Recco reflectors to help rescuers find you more quickly if lost in the mountains.

Like all of their shoes, Suplest Trail uses a grippy new SUPtraction rubber sole. It features a higher heel with an EVA core that’s said to protect the foot on hike-a-bikes and add impact-damping while pedaling. (SUPtraction shares the same parent company as Suplest, but also develops “Swiss rubber blends” for other shoemakers too, like: ION, Vaude, Dachstein & more…)

The Trail flat shoe looks real nice. Hope the rubber is worthy.
