Sweet Protection, known for everything from biking and paddling to snowboarding and skiing, has launched an adjustable trail helmet and new road helmets for this fall. Each sports a 4 piece polycarbonate shell, large STACC ventilation ports, and Occigrip ratchet system.
Transforming Arbitrator
The Arbitrator offers uncompromised safety in full face and trail forms. In fact, it meets ASTM, CPSC and EN 1077 standards both with and without the chin guard. They’ve achieved this by integrating ZYTEL chin guard reinforcement, a 4-piece polycarbonate shell, MIPS liner, and In-Molded frame into the EPS shell. Plus, its removable chin bar gets a carbon fiber build for added protection. Other features include an adjustable visor for goggles, removable cheek pads, and both DH and trail specific retention systems. The Arbitrator is priced at $300 and is available in 2 colors, blue and carbon.
Full aero tuck
Roadies can look forward to 3 new helmet options including the Tucker, Falconer II MIPS/standard and Falconer II Aero. The Tucker (€300) is designed with road racing and time trials in mind. Its aero shape was detailed in the wind tunnel for optimal performance through a range of head positions while large STACC ventilation ports funnel cool air through the helmet. Further, its visor attaches with magnets and is easily removable.
On the road
The Falconer II MIPS/standard and Aero are built for comfort, aerodynamics, ventilation, and protection. The main difference between the MIPS and Aero models are the magnetic fairing attachments on the Aero (€260). When used, they change your open body helmet into a complete shell that resists the wind and the elements. The Falconer MIPS (€230) offers the same fit and retention system as the Aero but with an open shell and of course the MIPS liner. The standard Falconer (€200) doesn’t have a MIPS liner but it does come in 4 colors including blue, orange, gray, and black.
