Best known for their X3 Gravel bike, Montreal’s T-Lab is headed to the trails. Originally intended for a public unveiling at NAHBS, after the show was postponed T-Lab has decided to let the Phenom fly.

Utilizing their proprietary method of cold working the titanium tubing, the Phenom frame has a striking profile which T-Lab says is more than just looks. The company claims that the result is an enhanced stiffness to weight ratio without losing that ride quality magic that titanium is known for. Medium frames are said to weigh in at 1800g.

While the full frame details will be released tomorrow when the bike will be available for orders, one of the most interesting details is already known. Thanks to their Versa-T dropout, the frame is capable of running both 27.5 and 29″ wheels with a unique BB drop setting for each. You also get a chainstay length adjustment of 411 to 438mm. Because of this adjustable chainstay length, the Phenom is easily converted to single speed.

Each bike will be made to order and personalized to the rider’s specifications. Pricing will start at $3,500 for the frameset, but complete builds will be available starting at $4,900. As mentioned, T-Lab will begin taking orders tomorrow, April 2nd.

T-Lab was also working on a light-hearted launch video, filmed on some snow-covered trails in Montreal, when the COVID-19 crisis hit. “We wanted to give a glimpse of where we’re coming from, along with the fun we have developing bikes,” said Rossi. “Obviously, we understand the context we’re all in right now and endorse the directive to ride safely in support of health care workers everywhere.”
