Last week we showed our readers the new black Teva Links and many readers wished more manufacturers would create understated purpose built kicks. If you’ve been pining for some casual skate style shoes to rock on street missions and skate sessions, then you’ll be looking forward to the launch of Teva’s new line of shoes come early spring.

Teva’s shoes are heavily based upon rider input. Jeff Lenowsky helped create the original, Cam McCaul made the push for a high top, and Sam Pilgrim pleaded for something a little more casual. Check past the break to see what that means..

The skate inspired Teva Cranks feature the same out sole as the Link, but have a suede upper, and lack some of the reinforcement of the bomber oriented Link. The “mid tops” I drooled over will be available in fall, but the low tops will make their first appearance around July. Expect the low tops to retail for $70, but set aside an extra $10 if you’re more interested in the high tops, they will run about $80.

The Teva hightops share the same pull tab to make slipping them on a little bit easier.
The Teva Links and Cranks share the same sole.
Who isn't a sucker for a proper gum sole?
The Teva Cranks will come in a variety of colorways.
