Michael Bisig’s story is one that may even be too wild for Hollywood. As Jon from the Gravel Lot summarized it, “Guy loves music, gets classically trained, plays in bands, travels to Hawaii to teach, falls in love with cycling and all of its usefulness beyond hobby, moves back to Ohio for family, gets tired of wet Midwest clay keeping him from riding, and invests his life-savings into an old factory in Dayton.” The end result is the relatively new Mike’s Bike Park in Dayton, Ohio. As I can certainly attest, we get more than our fair share of rain and our soil doesn’t stand a chance, so facilities like Mike’s are essential for year-round shredding – and we’re so glad they exist.
Ever thought of opening your own indoor bike park? You’ll want to listen to this.
Episode 40: Michael Bisig, the man behind Mike’s Bike Park in Dayton, Ohio sat down with us to talk about his life and what led him to walk away from his first love of teaching and invest his life savings into a giant factory.
