A charity auction was brought to our attention by the Examiner. With charities clamoring for funding, the bar for donation returns has truly been raised.

Offered via ebay, is the chance to ride in the Garmin-Transitions team car, supporting Bradley Wiggins, for one stage in the 2010 Tour de France. (Unfortunately, Wiggins has already announced that he will be leaving the Garmin team and riding for team Sky in the 2010 season. Still, riding in a team car during the Tour de France would be awesome) The proceeds from the auction will be divided equally between ActionAid, Computer Aid International and Peace Direct. So far there have been 41 bids pushing the total to almost $3,000.

Auction Ad:

“Seize your chance to ride along with British cycling hero, Bradley Wiggins, and more of the world’s best cyclists as you take the passenger seat in the Garmin-Transitions team car during a stage of the 2010 Tour de France. Meet the team’s riders as they prepare to do battle and get a money-can’t-buy view of life inside the peloton at the world’s greatest bike race. Flights for two from the London area, one night’s shared accommodation and a Garmin-Transitions goodie bag included. (Not previously offered).”

The bidding ends Dec. 21st, 2009 and 12:00 GMT.
