Bike mechanics love arguing about arcane knowledge on the internet. I should know. I spent way too much time in the legendary Battle of Bike Wits forum post on Pinkbike before it got shut down forever. But now, there’s a new way to nerd out over obscure bicycle parts and tools.

Name That Part is a fun, and surprisingly tough game created by Lucas Mace. Recently posted to the World Bicycle Mechanic Forum on Facebook, Lucas says that they used the game to interview mechanics at his former shop.

The game is simple–you get two photos of a bike part, and four possible choices. Get it right and you move on to the next part, with 60 parts total. Get it wrong, and the game is over. Enjoy!

Look at the threads. Those are left hand threads. So that will give you a clue as to what it is, and isn’t.
