London’s Tokyo Fixed Gear, the retailer and distributor of premium and exotic brands (they started, you guessed it, with the Japanese), are celebrating over a year of being the exclusive importer of Tonic Fabrication frames with two stunning builds.
The Portland, Oregon, workshop’s Vanishing Point steel road frame is not designed to be the lightest on the market, but rather to give superior power transfer combined with all-day comfort, and shows stunning attention to detail. The beefy Enve forks, oversized tubing and chainstays, wishbone stay and the oversized head tube are all designed to help the frame stay stiff when you decide to give bursts of power. Nevertheless, this set-up, with Sram and Easton finishing kit, tips the scale at 8.4kg (18.5lbs). It’s an ideal frame for sportives, claim Landon and Tony, the Tonic framebuilding team, who will build the Vanishing Point to stock or custom sizes.
The Supernaut, meanwhile, we have less info on; suffice it to say that this street-bound fixed-gear, which was just off for review by the Fixed Gear London crew, looks pretty mean.
