If you’ve ever purchased a bike that came stock with dropper post, there’s a chance you’ve already owned a TranzX product. But after years of working behind the scenes with bike brands as the largest OEM of dropper posts, TranzX has announced that they are starting consumer direct sales in North America. The announcement comes in partnership with U.S. based Dialed Distribution, which will be North America’s center for warranty and service support for TranzX as well. Of note is the fact that Dialed Distribution appears to be an offshoot from the same team that brought us PNW Components – which makes sense if they’ve been working with TranzX on their droppers over the years.
Compared to PNW, TranzX’s offerings for the North American market will focus more on the budget minded consumer with droppers starting at just $99 for the Skyline. The post is internally routed, uses a sealed hydraulic cartridge with infinite saddle positioning within the drop, offers 125mm drop, and offers a 2 year warranty.
When ordering, you’ll have a choice of levers including their Kitsuma 1x or 2x lever.
You can also opt for their Hot Lap Dropbar dropper lever which can be used with the Skyline dropper…
Or their Hot Lap gravel dropper post. This one is a short travel dropper that comes in 27.2, 30.9, or 31.6mm sizes making it perfect for gravel, CX, or XC bikes.
The internally routed post uses a light weight hydraulic cartridge that claims to drop up to 150g over longer travel models with the 27.2 50mm travel model weighing in at 430g. It’s also just $129 with your choice of lever.
Three other droppers will also be offered including the $99 Jump Seat which offers a drop lever at the saddle, and the highest end Kitsuma which is offered in a coil spring version for $129 or an air spring for $159. The air spring model is also the longest travel offering with models up to 200mm travel.
All of the posts claim to have 10 minute service times thanks to the replaceable cartridge, and carry a 2 year warranty, 30 day free return policy, and free shipping over $70. Some of the products appear to be available now, but the Skyline is offered for pre-order at this time.
