Japanese framebuilder Shin-ichi Konno, who made the head-turning track bike we spotlighted here and here, also used NAHBS 2011 to show he can make beautiful bikes in a more traditional style.
The Rambler is a touring bike with a beautifully chromed, sweeping split top tube. It features disc brakes, to improve stopping power and also to give increased clearance for panniers and luggage. The bike’s custom fenders beautifully matches the chromed curved twin top-tubes, which sweep down past the integrated seatpost to form the seat-stays.
Unlike the track bike, Konno says that this particular model, may, if demand allows, make it into a production run.
