These latest Udog Sempre road shoes combine the Italian cycling shoe brand’s proven fit system with a simplified design and composite sole to come in 40% cheaper than their top-tier option, while only adding a claimed 6 grams per shoe. With a simple design built around Udog’s Tension Wrap lacing, a single dial fit system, and a carbon-reinforced sole… you get a high-end fit & feel at a much more accessible price point.

At first glance, the new Udog Sempre road shoes look a lot like their top Cento shoes. You get dial retention with a woven lace and their unique midfoot V-shaped strap to evenly distribute pressure. There’s a simple perforated synthetic upper – super low-key aesthetics in the all-white version or embracing its unique design in the model with some hints of color. And there’s a similar-looking vented carbon composite sole with rubber toe & heel treads to get you to and from your bike.

There are a few key differences, though, helping Udog chop 115€ off the pricetag without sacrificing a ton on performance.

What’s new?

The most obvious is the use of a single dial for retention, dropping a separate strap over the top of your instep but retaining the TWS loop over the waist of your foot. These still stick with a proprietary Udog-branded dial. Although this one isn’t as large in diameter, it still looks pretty low-profile. The Sempres also keep a woven textile lace – which they describe as “the thickest and most durable low-power lace in the rotational closure segment” – run only through nylon webbing lace guide loops, something Udog says results in smoother tightening and improved durability over any plastic guides.

The other major change is a carbon fiber reinforced nylon sole. It looks to be the same shape as their top full-carbon sole. And it clearly isn’t much heavier since these new lightweight shoes still weigh just 276g. But Udog rates this nylon-carbon composite sole at a stiffness index of 7.0 – presumably on a scale of 1-11 since the Cento is rated 11.0.

Heel fit looks absolutely huge on these – much bigger than their other shoes.
