Are you tired of your MTB trail pack doing the monkey dance while you’re trying to send it? Today, Swedish pack builder USWE releases two new MTB packs to deliver the snug action you need.
USWE’s trail-ready FLOW and SHRED offer solid storage and organization, proprietary No Dancing Monkey and Snug-Me systems to limit bounce, and hydration compatibility.
USWE leverages its extensive field experience to design 16- and 25-liter versions of each pack. The FLOW is a high-end protector backpack with CE-certified full-back protection situated behind a ventilated back panel. The less-expensive SHRED keeps the FLOW’s form factor and full feature set, minus the back protection.
Here’s a first look at the new MTB packs.
In-House Tech Supports New MTB Packs
USWE’s No Dancing Monkey 2.0 and Snug-Me tech anchor both the FLOW’s and SHRED’s construction. The two harness technologies limit gear stress and rider fatigue with the 4-point strap system and waistbelt. USWE designs the 4-point system — in development since 2007 — to rise and fall with the wearer’s chest, thereby facilitating unrestricted breathing.
Pack Features and Specs
The FLOW MTB pack starts with its CE-certified full-back, SAS-TEC Lev1 protector. From there, a ventilated and multi-size-adjustable back panel facilitates individualized fit and sizing. Ergonomically designed shoulder straps help distribute the pack’s weight, and a multitude of integrated storage options help keep it organized.
A goggles pocket, helmet carry system, quick-click modular attachment points, and armor carry points are all there. And compression straps help tighten down the load to further limit jostling.
Hydration capacity is 3 liters. However, be advised that USWE does not include a hydration system, per its website.
Finally, reflective touches, LED attachment points, and a rain cover deliver safety and security under any conditions.
SHRED is best thought of as FLOW’s less-hardcore twin: it’s got all the same features and comes in the same sizes but eliminates the back protector. Otherwise, storage, hydration, and safety features for both MTB packs are all identical.

Both MTB packs are available in two colorways. FLOW is primarily black, with either red or blue highlights. SHRED is offered in all blue or all black.
The 16-liter packs weigh 1210 grams (2.66 lbs.), and the 25-liters weigh 1495 grams (3.30 lbs.). Those numbers exclude the weight of the back protector, which USWE does not list.
