Given his versatility as a rider of all things two wheels, long time FSA athlete Andrew Taylor seems like the perfect rider to highlight the brand’s chain. What’s that? You didn’t know FSA made chains? Apparently you’re not alone, which is why FSA is making a push to get the word out on their new complete range of 9, 10, and 11 speed options…
Compatible with most SRAM and Shimano drivetrains given the proper speed, FSA runs a battery of tests to ensure the longevity of the chain which even includes noise testing. Using 3 different microphones in an acoustic chamber, the chain is run on a 50/11t drivetrain at 80 rpm with 45 Kgf tension to measure the noise of the chain engaging on the teeth. As a result of all the design and testing work, FSA claims that, “third-party independent testing of FSA chains have shown them tot have superior elongation resistance, which results in longer chain life and more consistent shifting performance.”
Available in 9-11 speed options, weights range from 246 to 284g with both hollow and solid pins. Retail prices start at $29.99 for the Team Issue 9 speed, up to $64.99 for the K-Force Light 11 speed.
