as a Los Angeles resident (where this video was shot), it just isn’t safe to ride sans helmet in this city. AnonymousChris has it right.
I know this was a fashion shoot and they want to show their hats off, but still leaves a bad taste. Rapha constantly tries to achieve retro credibility in their shoots by showing riders not wearing helmets. I believe they have tried making some feeble excuses on their blog as to why they do this.
My helmet saved me from getting stitches (or worse) Sunday when I was doored and taken to the emergency room by ambulance. I’m more pro helmet than ever from personal experience.
