If you had any doubts as to Northwest Arkansas’ standing as a premier mountain bike destination, just take a look at what’s new. In addition to The Back Forty which is 40 miles of natural surface trails that were finished in 2016, the Walton Family Foundation is supporting another2018 Red Bull Pump Track World Championship new 50 mile trail system in Bella Vista to nearly double the city’s mileage. Then there’s the construction of the Runway Bike Park which will be home to the nation’s largest pump track constructed by Velosolutions – which will host the Final on October 13th.
And now, residents of Bentonville and the surrounding areas have another reason to celebrate – the Coler Mountain Bike Preserve is finally open to the public. That means another 16 miles of trails with four different trailheads and some pro-level features, all within 5 minutes of Bentonville by bike.
In addition to the trails, the Preserve will include 25 tent and hammock camp sites with wooden platforms for the tents, and a restroom facility with showers. You’ll also find renovated barns, open air pavilions, plenty of parking, two bike wash stations, and a Berm Building with a cafe.
The opening comes just before Outerbike Bentonville which takes place October 26-28th, which coincides with IMBA’s Dirty30 celebration. It’s shaping up to be a great time on bikes!
